Music for Working Out

One of my favorite guilty pleasures is listening to loud punk, hardcore, and metal music. Despite the fact that I’m probably too old to still listen to all that stuff, I can’t shake the energy it makes me feel.

One of the problems I find these days though is that there’s rarely a chance for me to indulge in a rocking session of mentally singing along to Comeback Kid or Unearth. As a result, these bands and songs are relegated to gym time, where I am free to rock. Something about this type of music genuinely makes me think I’m stronger/faster/better than I am when I workout without it.

I’ve read in the past that music makes you workout harder and with more intensity. I can definitely attest to that. One of the weirder things about this, however, is that the playlist I listen to doesn’t really change over time. Seriously, I have listened to the same playlist on shuffle every time I go to the gym for nearly 3 years. Here it is:

Anyway, I guess I find it funny that at 33, I’m still listening to the same shit I was when I was 19. it still gets me amped and makes me feel like a crazy person.

If you’re reading this and have suggestions, by all means, throw them in the comments section. Or follow the playlist itself and get some good vibes going for you the next time you workout.
